Adebukunola Telufusi is the Executive Director of Xcene Research and Tess Foundation Africa and has over a decade of experience in clinical research management.

Xcene Research is a leading Contract Research Organization (CRO) providing full-service and support to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies, as well as academic research institutions across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Tess Foundation Africa is an African-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing rural communities across sub-Saharan African countries with sustainable healthcare, quality education, and community-based solutions using state-of-the-art technology.

Adebukunola Telufusi has a deep commitment and focus on Africa’s Healthcare Development. To demonstrate her commitment, in one of the press conferences she pointed out that the need for Africa to build capacity in the clinical trials space is imminent judging from the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic where Africa recorded a lesser death population due to its unique race trait.

Adebukunola Telufusi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/ Biological Sciences from Rutgers University and has worked with the top ten global pharmaceutical companies and CROs as a consultant, project manager, and clinical research associate, and is an expert on clinical trials conducted in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and the United States. Her range of experience is extensive – spanning all phases of clinical trials, as well as covering paediatrics, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, oncology, neurology, medical devices, vaccines, and women’s health.

In one of her many interviews, she advised budding entrepreneurs who inspired to venture into the healthcare niche to be zealous, focused, informed and be impact driven. She also advises budding entrepreneurs to gain knowledge about what medical entrepreneurship is about, be skilful, learn how to establish relationships with the right network and always leave room for improvement.
