Dr Voke Toye is the founder/ managing consultant of Biologix Support Services, a biotechnology company positioned to meet the molecular research needs of Life Science researchers in Nigeria and support services to the emerging biotechnology industry in Nigeria. Their goal is to also empower Nigerian youths with requisite skills in the biotech sector through their professional training.

Dr Voke Toye attained her Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology and Genetics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, followed by an M.ScĀ in Biomedical Technology from the University of Calgary, Canada and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She is also an alumnus of the Lagos Business School where she received the 10,000 Women Goldman Sachs Scholarship for the certificate in Enterpreprenuerial Management in 2008. She’s a recipient of the “100 Leaders of Tomorrow in Biotechnology” at the Gap Summit Conference which held at the University of Cambridge UK in 2016.
Dr Voke Toye is also a recognized member of the Global Health Workshop Group (GHWG) at the Cummings School of Medicine, University of Calgary, Canada. She initiated the collaboration between the GHWG and the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, University of Lagos in 2014. She subsequently organized three intensive molecular biology workshops tagged “DNA Basics and Bioinformatics” for graduate students and researchers as an International Fellow of India Council of Medical Research/African Union-STRC and boasts a wealth of experience as a Chief Executive Officer in the research sector.
She is a member of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), the Nigerian Society for Experimental Biology (NISEB) and a member of the Organization for Women in Science in Developing World (OWSD).
Dr Voke is very passionate about Bioscience, capacity building in biotech, the business of biotechnology and how to harness the untapped opportunities in the Nigerian bio-economy.
